Client The Netherlands subsidiary of a global chemical products firm.

The client is one of the oldest continuously operating industrial enterprises in the world. The firm delivers research and science-based solutions that make a difference in people's lives in food and nutrition, health care, apparel, home and construction, electronics and transportation. Founded in 1802, the company today operates in 70 countries and has over 93,000 employees.

The client’s plant at Dordrecht in the Netherlands were using multiple operating systems, databases and different Graphical User Interfaces (GUI’s) such as Power Builder, Visual Basic, Uniface, etc. As the process of modernization began, the operators encountered extreme hardship when they had to switch between different GUI’s. This lead to the productivity being severely affected. In order to standardize to a common front end (GUI) irrespective of the back end database, Dupont the client entrusted this assignment to VAST. Resources from VAST designed, developed and implemented this functionality entirely onsite at the client’s facilities.
