Client : A Top-5 insurer in the UK

The client is a leading insurance provider in the UK, covering all lines of the insurance business. They have a heterogeneous IT environment, consisting of legacy mainframe systems coupled with front end GUI as well as GroupWare solutions implemented using Lotus Notes. As part of its strategy to maximise access to high quality low-cost global information systems solution providers, the client established a relationship with VAST, through VAST’s marketing agent in the UK. The relationship envisaged the establishment of a development centre at VAST with appropriate equipment and facilities, including a high-speed communication link to the client’s offices in the UK.

The assignment involved the development of various applications for managing healthcare insurance policies. The system consisted of various modules like Servicing, Claims, Housekeeping, Finance etc. VAST consultants were involved in developing the servicing module, which takes care of individual policies and group policies, design of an application framework in SQL Windows and implementation of the business logic using Stored Procedures.
