Training Services Information Systems

Client : An international UN funded management services agency in Europe.

The client was established in 1989 as a joint initiative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC). The client’s objective is to assist in improving the competitiveness of African companies to bring them up
to international standards. Its clients include local African and international African joint-venture companies wishing to expand and/or further improve their quality; companies in the process of rehabilitation; and state owned companies in the process of privatization.

In the past 11 years the client has seconded more than 450 managers to over 200 companies in 26 African countries for periods ranging from one to three years. This project involved the total development and implementation of a complete integrated training management information system (TMIS) for the client. The primary aim of developing this system was to provide an integrated system that could store details of the training provider, standard courses offered by each of the training providers, client companies’ database, trainee’s profile, client companies’ budget against the corresponding contract, schedule of the training programs to be provided, actual expenses incurred by the trainees against corresponding training programs, etc. Besides these the system could also handle other features such as accounting, billing, hotel reservations etc, thus providing an integrated end-to-end training management system for the client.

The entire development, implementation and training was done onsite at the client’s headquarters in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
