education portal in Southeast Asia
The client, a leading Education and eLearning service provider
specializing in management education and based in Singapore,
designs, develops and deploys both customized and generic
eLearning programmes for large international corporations.
The programs are targeted mainly for clients in crossroad
situations, where effective and quick training is required
to tackle critical change processes.
This
group of assignments covered major components of the customer’s
needs:
Design,
development and testing of WISENODE converter: WISENODE Converter
forms the core of the learning management system. The WISENODE
Converter is used to design courses to be published on the
internet in the form of web pages. WISENODE allows the course
designer to add the required modules, sections, topics and
pages (ie., the ASP files without links and navigational bars).
WISENODE then automatically takes the web pages one by one,
parses through the code and inserts the required navigational
links with data at the required places. This reduces the burden
of the course designer from manually writing the links of
the next, previous page, paths of the images and other links
like sitemap, help, glossary, resources and the option control
with the data.
The
WISENODE Converter was subsequently customized to meet the
specific requirements of the leading Telco in the region,
so as to be able to train Customer Support Officers (CSO)
of the client. This software helps the CSO ’s to have
their own forum and place notes and assess themselves on what
they have learnt.
VAST
also designed and built dynamic reporting capabilities, that
would provide statistics to the members of the portal regarding
their profile, grade, attendance, history, group and results.
These reports receive the input parameters from an ASP page
and in turn passes it to the SQLServer stored procedure and
displays the information according to the input received from
the user.
Design, development and testing of an internal Time Sheet
System. The system allows for the entry and analysis of data
on activities performed during a specified period. The system
accepts data on activities and duration specifics and generates
consolidated reports for specified periods giving details
on activities person-wise, activity wise, assignment-wise
etc. It also helps determine the value of assignments.
