Jim Teets, President & CEO of ADAC Automotive (Grand Rapids, Michigan/USA), has been nominated as Chairman of the Board of Directors of VAST – one of the leading automotive suppliers in security and access control products.

The position of Chairman was created in the context of organizational changes in 2010, and it was decided that this function will rotate among the three VAST partners every two years. Harry Stratton, Chairman of STRATTEC Security (Milwaukee, Wisconsin/USA), was the first Chairman. The last two years Rainer Goelz, CEO of WITTE Automotive (Velbert, Germany), headed up the VAST Board of Directors, which defines the strategic goals of the alliance, oversees the implementation of the VAST global initiatives and provides advice to the VAST leadership team.

“The worldwide presence will constantly grow in importance and relevance,” emphasizes WITTE’s Goelz. “Thanks to 12 engineering centers and 14 manufacturing locations in Asia, North and South America, as well as in Europe, today VAST has its representation wherever the big car manufacturers and automotive suppliers are.”

Jim Teets has been with ADAC for 21 years holding various positions in sales and marketing, manufacturing, and in his current role as ADAC’s CEO. “I’m excited to lead the VAST group of companies. As more and more of our OEM customers’ platforms are global in scope, we need to have a solution for this change. The global footprint that the VAST partners have developed is impressive, but still very much evolving," new VAST Chairman Teets reported optimistically.
